Important note: in the plots below, the curves for filtered jets were incorrect [NOW CORRECTED]. They were generated with a version of SpartyJet that contained a bug in how max_dij_so_far was stored, and for reclustered jets filtering did not work correctly. The results below correspond to only the 500--600 GeV pT bin, which agree with Gavin's (GroomedMassComparisonsSinglePt) results. I tend to agree that showing one pT range at a time is clearer for illustrative purposes. In addition to jet mass, I have shown a "min-mass" style subjet mass for each subjet method.

For pruning I have taken the "standard" parameters z_cut = 0.1, D_cut = 0.5*(2m/pT), in the spirit of not trying too hard to tune things. Neither filtering or trimming was designed to be used as a solo grooming method, so there are no "standard" parameter picks. I've gone with Gavin's roughly optimized parameters.
